Siwanoy Elementary School is a lovely school located on Siwanoy Place in Pelham Manor. For generations, Pelham youngsters have walked to the school from Pelhamdale Avenue or from the Esplanade on lovingly-maintained paths.

The central portion of the school was built in 1910. For more than a decade the building housed both elementary and high school classes. (Construction of the main Pelham Memorial High School building was completed in 1922.)

Below is an image of the "Pelham High School and Siwanoy Grammar School" published in The Pelham Sun on December 20, 1913.

In addition, shortly after the school building was built, its image appeared on an undated post card likely published in about 1910. The post card is entitled "Pelham High School, Pelham, N. Y." An image of it appears below.
